Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time (Flexible hours, Overtime, Day, Evening, Weekend)
Wages: $15.00 hourly or more, for 30.00 Hours per week

Work Location: Ponoka, Alberta (in the vicinity of 45th Street and 39th Avenue).
Work Setting: Services provided in the employer’s home for three children (aged 11, 9 and 7).
This is a position for a person who enjoys being around children, and care for their wellbeing. You must be able to perform child care duties such as meal preparation for the children, light housekeeping and laundry of the children. You are expected to have the will to enrich people’s lives through caring and good communication.

• Valid driver’s license and own vehicle is required to commute within the community.
• This is NOT a live-in position — you will have to maintain your own accommodation and show up for work every morning.
Knowledge, experience and skills required: Knowledge of child care,* experience in dealing with kids below 12 years *
Education: High school/grade 12 equivalent and standard first aid and CPR certification required.
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience providing care to children
Languages: Speak English, Read English
Weight Handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Job Duties: Supervise and care for children in employer's home, dress children, plan, prepare and serve meals for children and may perform other housekeeping duties, oversee children's activities, such as rest periods, as instructed by employer, tend to the emotional well-being of children and support their social development, discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, organize and participate in activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings, take children to and from school and appointments
Additional skills: flexibility, client focus, initiative, reliability, team player, effective interpersonal skills, organized; maintain a safe, clean and healthful environment for the children
Essential Skills: Must be understanding, patient, gentle, respectful and non-judgmental; strong, conflict resolution skills; demonstrate good decision making in dealing with safety issues; critical thinking; effective verbal and listening skills; stress and time management skills
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Reference required
